Introduction
Talents Project Development Consultancy specialises in creating inspiring visitor experiences, focusing on museums, art and heritage centres, science centres and World Expos. We work with clients on all levels, from the conception stage of a project to refining the visitor experience. Talents offers a wide range of services, including recruitment, training & mentorship, exhibition design, development of educational programming and strategic planning.
Clients include: Etihad Museum, Louvre, Abu Dhabi; Qasr Al Watan; Expo 2020 UK Pavilion, Expo 2020 UAE Pavilion, Dubai Culture.
Brief Description:
As a Senior Programme Developer, you will be a highly motivated, self-starting proactive team member who will be responsible for leading a small team of developers. You will enjoy the challenge of thinking creatively and learning new skills as you research, test and create engaging and innovative programmes that connect audiences, museums, and collections together across our exciting projects. You will not be afraid to jump in and help where required contributing to the successful delivery of contracts.
You will primarily be responsible for playing a leading role on Talents UAE’s programming at the Al Shindagha Museum, but it is expected that you will take a leading role on any new programming initiatives that the company works on.
The Role:
- Take on the responsibility for planning, reporting, administering overall budget, coordinating meetings, schedules and quality for Talents UAE’s visitor and learning programmes.
- Lead on researching content for programmes in a variety of formats such as educational workshops, storytelling, summer and winter camps, festivals, family activities and adults.
- Liaise with museum and cultural experts such as curators and external consultants to ensure all information and content used in all programmes is factually correct and developed in a way that is appealing to the target audience
- Liaise with educational providers to ensure their needs are met such as developing content that aligns with the curriculum
- Fully plan and develop programmes ensuring detailed scripts and risk assessments are provided
- Produce audience-facing written materials and scripts for graphics and programmes and managing others to do the same, taking on the role of lead editor when necessary.
- Work closely with the Programmes and Operations teamson the on-site delivery of programmes, working to ensure the smooth planning and delivery of all programmes and events.
- Line manage programme developers working with HR to look after their pastoral care as well as their work.
- Work with Guides to provide training for programmes and also to seek out opportunities for Guides to contribute to the development and delivery of programmes.
- Work with the rest of the team to establish Al Shindagha as a key learning resource for schools and communities to discover Emirati heritage and culture
- Produce client-facing written reports and other materials to support TUAE’s business development and project management, and managing teams to do the same. Present work to senior management and other stakeholders, including clients.
- Lead on project evaluation (when required) ensuring that data is created that allows for programmes to be improved in the future.
- Administer procurement of typically up to AED 250,000 for any one contract placed in the course of a project.
- Support Talents teams as required to ensure the company delivers exceptional experiences to all its clients
- Be professional at all times representing and promoting Talents to external stakeholders
What you bring to the team:
You will definitely have…
- Three years of experience working in programme development
- Experience of working in a museum, heritage, arts or cultural background
- Fluency in Arabic both verbal and written
- Excellent knowledge of the Emirati Cultural Heritage
- Evidence of developing learning programmes and working with a wide range of audiences
- Enthusiasm, passion and interest in the visitor attraction sector
- Great communication and customer service skills
- Creativity for researching and developing programmes
- Self-motivated and the ability to work independently
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- A strong team player
