Celebrating its 25th edition, Sikka Art & Design Festival is set to return from 31 January to 9 February 2025 in the historic Al Shindagha Historic District. Bringing together talented artists from across the UAE and GCC, this vibrant festival showcases art that reflects a visionary future, transforming the district into a hub of creativity.
Amid the storied alleys of Al Shindagha, the festival offers a unique blend of exhibitions, installations, poetry nights, musical performances, workshops, and thought-provoking films. As always, visitors can look forward to discovering innovative art and engaging in immersive cultural experiences.
What is the Sikka Art & Design Festival?
Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture, the Sikka Art & Design Festival celebrates the creative talents of Emirati and GCC-based artists. It is a platform for emerging and established creators to share their work with a global audience, highlighting the region’s artistic excellence.
What can visitors experience?
The festival offers free entry to the district and an array of traditional workshops and activities for all ages inside Al Shindagha Museum houses. Workshops inside the houses include: traditional jewellery, Misbaha, madkhan and gypsum art making, henna stencils and khoos weaving. Tickets inside the houses start from AED 50 for adults and AED 20 for students, stay tuned for the museum announcement for discounted ticket entry.
Visitors can also explore creative installations, photography exhibits, live music shows, film screenings, and interactive workshops, making it a perfect outing for families and art enthusiasts alike.
